While the search for suspects continues, a large amount of the items recently stolen from a Kamloops target club were located earlier this week.

Bows, arrows, hats, shirts, armguards, and gloves were among the recovered items located in a bushy area of Westsyde Road on Tuesday Nov. 12. The items were reported stolen during a break and enter at the target club on the 2700-block of Hillside Drive, Oct. 29, 2024.

“As part of the investigative process, police were led to an area outside of town, where many items belonging to the group were located and retrieved by officers,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP.

“Evidence was seized for forensic examination and the rest of the items were returned to the club.”

Katie Britton of the club was happy to have the items that were located returned. She said they can now begin the process of assessing which items, such as the bows, are salvageable for use, and which tools and equipment are still outstanding.

“We’re really happy to have gotten some of our stuff back,” said Britton. “It’s good because now we can start to plan for our beginners’ programs again.”

Britton also wanted to recognize how supportive the community has been in providing donations and information following the break and enter.

Since the initial report, police have received numerous tips and continue to follow up on information provided as part of the investigative process, said Cpl. Evelyn.

“It was great to see so many items recovered and returned, but the investigation isn’t over yet,” Evelyn said.

“The public is encouraged to please contact police as soon as possible if they have information that could be related, including the identity of the suspects or the movements of the truck they were observed driving.”

Police are asking residents to review the images of a male and female suspects and the truck they were associated to, said Evelyn. Those with information are asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-35765.

  1. I have a hard time believing that some people think it is alright to break in and steal from a non-profit organization that is trying to provide programs for members of the public. I’m happy that some of the equipment was found. Too bad they didn’t just return it to where they stole it from. I hope they are caught soon and face serious consequences for their very poor behaviour.
