POLICE – Child struck by vehicle in crosswalk on Tranquille Road

Kamloops RCMP are  looking for witnesses and video related to a collision between a motor vehicle and a youth yesterday morning (Oct. 10, 2024).

 Around 8:10 a.m., officers were called to Tranquille Road near Windbreak Street, where an 11-year-old child with a bike had been hit by an SUV while using the crosswalk.

“The youth was transported to hospital with injuries and is expected to recover,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“Please reach out to police as soon as possible if you witnessed the collision or have information that may be related.”

The investigation is ongoing.

Those with information, including dash camera or security video that may have captured the incident, are asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-33717.
