The City is selling 13 lots at three different sites on Royal Avenue, Alpine Terrace, and Huckleberry Place.

The four Royal Avenue lots are adjacent to the Rivers Trail, the two Alpine Terrace lots are in the Westsyde neighbourhood, and the seven Huckleberry Place lots are waterfront in the Rayleigh neighbourhood.

The Royal Avenue and Alpine Terrace lots have municipal services, are ready for construction, and will go up for sale immediately, the City said today (Sept. 25, 2024).

The Huckleberry Place lots are expected to be ready in spring 2025 following riparian area evaluation work.

The Royal Avenue and Huckleberry Place lots have previously been offered for sale.

Given the current need for increased housing supply and demand in the market, the City said it believes the timing is right to release some of its residential lot inventory.

“With the current demand for housing, offering these lots at this time should be well received and assist with increasing the supply of housing,” said David Freeman, the City’s real estate manager.

“Sales proceeds go into the land sales reserve, which is used to fund other real estate opportunities for the City.”

Each lot has a minimum asking price set to reflect market activity. The City will be accepting sealed offers on the Royal Avenue and Alpine Terrace lots until 2 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2024. Staff will negotiate directly with interested parties for any lots remaining after the sealed bid process. A commission will be offered to licensed realtors who deliver a successful offer.

Photos of the lots, property information documents, and detailed instructions on how to make an offer for the Royal Avenue and Alpine Terrace lots are available at Kamloops.ca/RealEstate.
