POLICE – Missing motorcyclist found dead after crash near Lac le Jeune

The Kamloops RCMP detachment is looking for witnesses and information after a motorcyclist was found dead near Lac le Jeune Road yesterday (Sept. 23, 2024).
The rider, a man in his 60s, was reported missing to police just before midnight on Sept. 22, 2024, after he failed to return home from a motorcycle ride earlier that day. Frontline officers and the RCMP Air Services patrolled the area near Timber Lake and Lac La Jeune where he was known to frequent, but the man was not located.
Around 12:40 p.m., on Sept. 23, police were called to assist Kamloops Fire and Rescue with a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle fatality, and confirmed the deceased as the missing man.
“Sadly, the man and his yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle were located off of the roadway and appear to have crashed,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
“The Kamloops RCMP Traffic Unit is investigating the collision with support from a BC Highway Patrol reconstructionist. We are asking anyone who may have observed the victim riding in the area or has dash-camera footage available that could be related, to please contact police as soon as possible.”
The BC Coroners Service is conducting a concurrent investigation.
Those with information which could be related to this incident are asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000.
