POLICE – Body of man found in river near McArthur Island Park

Kamloops police are working with the BC Coroners Service after a body was found in the river near McArthur Island yesterday (Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024).

Around 5:45 p.m., RCMP were called to an area near the park and were able to retrieve the body of a man near the shoreline. The BC Coroners Service also arrived and is investigating along with police.

“At this time, we’re still working to confirm the identity of the deceased person,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

As the investigation continues, anyone with information they think may be helpful is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-30277.
