POLICE – Cole taken into custody after issuance of arrest warrant

Cameron Cole.

A man wanted on an arrest warrant for firearms related charges has been detained. Forty-year-old Cameron Ronald Ross Cole is believed by police to be part of a conflict involving organized crime.

He was taken into custody Aug. 12 by the Kamloops RCMP Targeted Enforcement Unit, 10 days after police asked for public assistance in finding him, and after warnings there was a risk to the public due to violence among members of drug gangs.

RCMP said today (Aug. 15, 2024) he remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

A shooting incident near a Tranquille Road restaurant on July 3 ended with a car that Cole was in plunging into the river and two other vehicles torched.
