POLICE – At least 10 vehicles damaged in Juniper Ridge vandalism spree

At least 10 vehicles were damaged in Juniper between yesterday and this morning.

At around 5:30 a.m. (Thursday, June 27, 2024), RCMP received a report of a car with smashed windows parked roadside on the 1900-block of Qu’appelle Boulevard. Soon after, numerous other discoveries were made involving slashed tires and smashed vehicle windows along the boulevard, in both east and west Juniper.

“At this time, some of the victims may not have realized yet that their vehicle was damaged during this series of destructive acts,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“We are reaching out to the public to see if they witnessed, have video surveillance including doorbell cameras, or dash camera footage that could help police identify a suspect.”

Currently, there is no definitive timeline on when the mischiefs began, but they may have started as early as yesterday evening and continued overnight, based on the investigation so far.

Police are still working on contacting some of the owners of the damaged vehicles.

If anyone witnessed anything that could be related to this investigation, including suspicious vehicles or people observed in the area, or was a victim and has not yet reported it, call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment as soon as possible and reference file 2024-20172.
