POLICE – Silver Honda Civic described as vehicle fleeing after Monday shooting

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is releasing stock images of a grey, 2000s model Honda Civic that may be connected to yesterday’s shooting.

On May 6, 2024, around 7 p.m., a vehicle described as a silver car was observed fleeing the area of a shooting on the 500-block of Columbia Street. A man was transported by ambulance to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of what is believed to be a targeted attack.

Earlier this morning, around 12:35 a.m., a grey Honda Civic was located abandoned on Ord Road and has been seized by police as part of the ongoing investigation.

“The circumstances surrounding how the vehicle ended up abandoned are suspicious for reasons that are part of the ongoing investigation,” said Staff Sgt. Todd Wiebe of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Investigative Services.

“We are releasing stock images of an older model grey Honda Civic in the hope that the public can help us establish a timeline on its movements.”

Police are asking the public to take some time to review their dash camera footage and video surveillance, and see if they recall or captured anything that could help further the investigation.

Anyone with information that may be related is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000.
