LETTER – Tuning out from the mud on the AM radio station dial

Re: ROTHENBURGER – A modest proposal for a better citizen satisfaction survey

I like your insight, mixed with humour. I’m not a political type guy but I am a home owner, small business owner, and landlord (small potatoes, nothing fancy ).

I was listening to our AM radio station news, I got sorta confused. I thought news was supposed to be neutral, just try to report facts. The announcer was throwing quite a lot of mud your way, and also at the mayor.

It wasn’t a commentary; it was something different. I don’t know, maybe I’m out to lunch but it seemed fundamentally wrong. There was no “The views expressed are not necessarily that of the station” type thing.

Then he interviewed a Fortis rep about BC One Call, went on to say the only equipment operators anyone should hire are those that are ” bonded.”  I know most of the guys in town; they/ we all have insurance (liability, etc.) but bonded ?

Again , maybe I’m off base… I had to turn the station dial.
