POLICE – Helicopter spots body of missing man in Thompson River

The body of a Kamloops man reported missing last November has been found.

Police received a report on Tuesday (April 16, 2024) that a helicopter had spotted a body in the Thompson River. With the help of Kamloops Search and Rescue, the body was recovered and confirmed to be a missing 32-year-old man last believed to have been in Mission Flats.

“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment offers its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” said RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“At this time, no criminality is suspected by police. The investigation will remain with the BC Coroners Service.”

Police will not be releasing the man’s name in order to protect his privacy. The original missing person’s media release will be removed from the Kamloops RCMP website.
