The Kamloops Symphony’s semi-annual fundraiser, Barb’s Used Book & Music Sale, is returning to St. Andrew’s on the Square (159 Seymour Street) for the Spring 2024 edition of the sale.

Shoppers can visit the sale of used books, music, and more from April 6 to April 20. The sale will be open 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays, 12 noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

The KSO says it has once again received large quantities of used books, sheet music, vinyl records, and CDs. Most items will now be available for $3 instead of the previous $2 starting point. Children’s books will remain at $2 each.

All money raised by the sale goes towards the Kamloops Symphony’s operating expenses, which includs everything from concert productions to educational programs.

Donations will be accepted at St. Andrew’s on the Square from 9 a.m. until 12 noon from Monday, April 1 to Wednesday, April 3. The KSO is unable to accept tattered/dirty books, magazines, Readers Digest, encyclopedias and textbooks, and VHS and cassette tapes.

There are four book recycling bins that the City of Kamloops has provided throughout the city at the Big Little Science Centre, Tournament Capital Centre, North Kamloops Library, and McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre, and magazines can go into your home recycle bin.

Running consistently since 1997, the sale was spearheaded by Barb Corbishley who was one of the KSO’s board members at the time. After her death, it was named Barb’s Used Book & Music Sale in her honour.
