PETERS – Ageism alive and well in the U.S. presidential race

I’M NOT SURE WHAT President Joe Biden ingested before this week’s State of the Union address — and perhaps I don’t want to know.
Sleepy Joe has been one of the more effective barbs thrown the president’s way throughout his term, but he was anything but sleepy Thursday night, despite starting the speech well past bedtime on the east coast.
Biden was as spirited as ever, and didn’t seem to be bothered in the least by MAGA senators trying to shout him down for a little precious face time.
Trump has spent the four years since he lost the 2020 election on a comprehensive tour of U.S. courtrooms.
On the other side, it’s the incumbent Biden.

“Put that aside and judge them on their records, their platforms and their personal character rather than the numbers on their birth certificates.”
IF voters bypassed their MAGA based programming, and voted only using this criteria, we would undoubtably see trump getting a single % digit vote count, resulting in a landslide for Biden … but if we have learned nothing else, the brainwashing of the unwashed doesnt work that way.
If you look on Youtube, there’s an unending amount of interviews with MAGA individuals at trump rallies, proving what really has happened. They are so deeply entrenched in carrot following as the basis of their actual personalities, that the 2024 vote will show a complete inability to do anything else.
Voting based on records, platforms and personal character is a dying quantifier, hopefully one day it will become relevant again … as at the end of the day … trump is also very old.

David have you ever asked yourself are we the good or bad guys.
Many of us in our society identify with Christianity and the Christian creed and morality is beyond question and doubt for them. Many will say as Christians we have the moral high ground. We think that everywhere we and our government go and whatever we do we are doing God’s work. that makes us good guys
Many of us in the West including our friend James Peters consider ourselves to be democracies. Most who yell democracy would be hard pressed to define it. If they really understood that democracy is bought and sold with hands politicians had greased, thus democracy on a promise of equality, often shatters against the wall of money. However, money elevates this onto the highest of pedestals, ‘we are democracies, the most righteous form of government, and therefor we hold the moral high ground, so obviously we and our institutions/governments are the good guys’.
Even more abstract is the notion that we, in the west, are ‘free’ and therefor have the moral authority over those countries where ‘the people’ are ‘not free’. We believe that gives us the moral high ground, so obviously we our institutions/governments are the good guys.
We have become moral Pavlov-dogs. Dangle a so-called noble cause in front of us, and any action, any action, undertaken by us, our institutions/governments, instantly becomes justified no matter what the morality of that action itself actually is.
We have killed, directly or indirectly, children not by the hundreds, not by the thousands, not by the tens of thousands, but by the hundreds of thousands over the last few decades in order to make the world ‘free’ and ‘safe for democracy’.
Somehow that’s okay with us (as a society). But when our own government tells us Assad killed some children with chemical weapons, we have a Pavlov-reaction no proof is required, and we accept ‘something’ must be done. This is only true and it only applies if we are told that this was done by the bad guys Why? Because we are the good guys.
Despite all the lies It’s always the bad guys who lied or did wrong. ‘Tony Blair lied the UK into the Iraq war and Bush lied the US into the same war’. These are only two of hundreds of examples where government and their Media lied to us. The whole system is corrupted, not just individuals in it.
The system rules and changes the individuals, not the other way around. We in the west the voting public justify our belief in our authorities by saying that if it wasn’t true, ‘someone’ would speak up. Biden was a member of what I call the “Gang of Four “Biden, Lugar Dole and McCain” whose policies killed thousands around the world and they are getting away with it because they represent democracy and they are the good guys.
Lies that big can’t hold up. But when people do speak up, we ignore or ridicule them, calling them conspiracy nuts. And a suspiciously large number of them have car accidents, commit suicide, are on planes that crash, suddenly get cancer, or are the victim of robberies gone wrong. The scale of our self-delusion is mind-boggling. Evidence is out there to charge Biden with War Crimes, as yet we don’t have evidence that Trump is guilty of and charges pending against him.
David what happened to the rule of law, due process, independent judiciary and guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Do we throw all this out of the window because we have painted Biden as a good guy and Trump as a bad guy? They say justice is blind, not when you divide the world into good guys who get the podium and silence the bad guys. Nothing worse that persecuting and prosecuting someone we know is innocent.

James, James did you just wake up from a thirty-year sleep? You write “The worst criticism seemingly anyone can throw at Biden is that he’s old”. There weren’t enough shoes in the House of Representatives to throw at him. If they charged Biden and his cohorts with all his and their crimes, they would need to build portable courtrooms in every state.
To be factious James common, that was not Biden, that was the first artificial intelligence (AI) powered humanoid robot presidential candidate speaking to a full house of AI ‘deepfakes’ Tesla androids.
The most interesting androids were Biden, Harris, and Pelosi. This new Biden is fitted with an Intel processor and a co-processor for maneuvering tasks and spewing misinformation. How could you miss the AI likeness of Kamala Harris but her intel was only able to stand up smile clap and sit down and do it all over again on que triggered by the words Trump, and Putin.
They even had an AI of Nancy Pelosi programmed to lick her botox lips in order to remember the hundred flavours of ice cream in her home fridge.
To be serious, not all politicians are idiots, with a mix of Nazi lovers and geriatrics, although our definition of idiot old and young ones may vary. But plenty are. The US and EU seem particularly afflicted with them.
It seems that an intelligent person has to feign stupidity to get elected and then they act the part. Many politicians are clearly in it for themselves, but there surely are plenty who really do want the best for their constituents.
Why are intelligent people silent when surrounded by idiotic policy. Its time to end party solidarity and the only way that will happen is through proportional representation.
