Re: EDITORIAL – The man who thinks he’s a god is our biggest worry for 2024
What we don’t need more of is divisive rhetoric. Your show on CFJC Wednesday night (Jan. 17, 2024) regarding the 2024 U.S. election was terrible.
Stop pushing fear and start presenting facts and what each candidate has to offer. The U.S. was better in every way under Trump than Biden. Secure border, good economy, safe streets.
I think both Biden and Trump are a terrible choice for a world super power. But sewing more exaggerated talking points is not helpful to an already volatile electorate. Please do better.

Always enjoy your editorials and more. Today was cute.. I shouted from the next room to my husband, “Hey, google Armchair Mayor and read his latest editorial.” My husband just detests Trump. Anyway, he googles, and shouts out “I found it,” starts reading and states at first when he saw the headline, he thought it was about Coun. Sarai, LOL. I got a good chuckle out of that.
Keep on writing the good/real/tuff stuff Mel.

Let the ol’ Armchair Mayor have his opinion. At least he’s not using his personal feelings to make decisions for the rest of us like some others are doing.
Trump is a criminal, a sexual assaulter and much more. But I tell you what, I’m not voting for anyone promoting open drug abuse on our streets, revolving door justice for criminals, out of control immigrating that’s made housing out of reach for most of us, and anyone trying to redistribute wealth.

One negative, but factually accurate opinion column about trump, and there is no lack of keyboard warriors that cycle endlessly on about:
“elite cabal-led leftist globalists” … really? Do people really think that particular bit of conspiratorial brainwashing is actually real? You forgot about the pedophile ring.
Or even better, someone who thinks an opinion column (not media per say, but clearly an opinion piece) isnt allowed if the ‘spew’ differs from the commenters own opinion … to the point of actually directly telling Mel to not write … meaning that if a writer doesnt agree with them … he is actually not allowed to write at all.
This person actually said: “PLEASE keep your political opinions to yourself” … wait … what? So much for freedom of expression.
Those are by definition the words of a democracy hating fascist. Give this person power and see Mel be imprisoned. Is that the country they want?
Or if we scan the original column’s comments: The programmed rants of ‘tyrannical Trudeau’ and repackaging Make America Great Again and moving it north, which is a concept that just boggles the mind as they dont even know that trump manufactured the phrase as electioneering junk, even if it isnt relevant to the real world and doesnt really mean anything.
It even looks like one of them has swallowed the Putin playbook: If a columnist disagrees with them politically … they are a full blown Nazi … like actually. Thats decidedly sickening.
And before anyone accuses me of supporting any party or person, nothing here is regarding any actual political standpoint, but speaks on behalf of democracy itself … a concept that is becoming lost in hatred and hiding behind furious and semi-anonymous typing.
