POLICE – Kamloops man arrested in Anaham after co-ordinated effort

A Kamloops man wanted on 12 warrants was taken into custody on the weekend following a co-ordinated effort between RCMP detachments.

Tyler Meldrum, 28, of Kamloops, was wanted on two warrants for breach of a release order stemming from two Kamloops RCMP files in September 2023, as well as nine more out of Alexis Creek, and another from Williams Lake.

“Efforts to locate Meldrum in Kamloops were unsuccessful but an investigator learned that he was likely hiding out in a residence in Alexis Creek RCMP’s area and connected with RCMP officers there,” said Staff-Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP.

Alexis Creek officers had been working to locate and arrest Meldrum but it wasn’t until an officer in Kamloops conclusively confirmed his location that he was arrested early Sunday morning at an address in Anaham.

“Crime may know no boundaries, but neither does the RCMP,” added Shoihet.

Meldrum was expected to appear in court in Williams Lake.
