POLICE – Man charged in aggravated assault investigation

A Quebec man has been charged in an aggravated assault investigation following a call to a Kamloops hotel in late December.

In the early morning hours of Dec. 29, 2023, officers from the Kamloops RCMP detachment were called to a hotel in the 1200-block of Rogers Way for a report that a woman was in distress and required police.

“When officers arrived, they located a 20-year-old, Quebec woman with significant but non-life-threatening injuries,” said S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP. “She was transported to a local area hospital and has since been released.”

Jesse Bordage, 27, of Bellevue, Quebec, was arrested at the scene and appeared in court earlier today (Jan. 3, 2024).  He has been charged with one count each of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and attempting to choke to overcome resistance and three counts of breach of a release order.

Bordage remains in custody awaiting his next appearance.
