POLICE – Break-in assailant escapes but may be missing a tooth

Police are looking for a suspect, possibly missing a tooth, after a break-and-enter report escalated to an aggravated assault investigation.

On Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, just after 1 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 900-block of Victoria Street where a man had been assaulted with a blunt object after interrupting a break and enter in progress. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening.

“During the altercation, the victim managed to strike the suspect and possibly knock out one of his teeth,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“If you know anyone who had one less tooth on Monday morning and may be a suspect, please contact police as soon as possible.”

The suspect is described as:
Caucasian male
Mid 30s
Clean cut, shorter hair
Athletic build
Dressed in multiple layers of clothing

If anyone witnessed, has video, or dash camera footage related to this investigation, contact the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-34820.
