LETTER – Facebook’s war on Canadian media should be condemned

Thank you for your article on the aggressive shut-down of Canadian media by Meta & Facebook. You were right when you called it a war on our media industry. That is exactly what it is! In my opinion, it is an act of terrorism and should be condemned by the international community.

What bothers me is that it hurts the little guy the most. I am a writer and entrepreneur and I just had an opinion piece published by the Times Colonist here in Victoria, B.C.

My excitement about sharing it on Facebook turned to horror when Facebook refused to post it with a curt message about their decision to not put Canadian content on their platform.

I am outraged at being an innocent victim of a battle that has nothing to do with me.
