POLICE – Two missing kids found safe, Amber Alert is cancelled
Two missing children who have been the subject of a search for the past 10 days have been located safe, Surrey RCMP said this evening (Saturday, July 29, 2023).
The children, eight-year-old Aurora Bolton and 10-year-old Joshua Bolton, were the subject of an ongoing Amber alert since July 19. They were expected back at their father’s home in Surrey on July 17 after a camping trip in the Okanagan with their mother but they never showed up.
Police believed the mother, Verity Bolton, was travelling with her father Robert Bolton and boyfriend Abraxas Glazov and that they may have been living off the grid.
At one point, Verity Bolton was seen shopping for groceries in Kamloops.
Police released no immediate details of where the children were found. They issued the following news release at 8:48 p.m.
“Surrey RCMP is relieved to update the public that the two children who were subjects of an AMBER Alert issued on July 19, 2023, have been located safely.
“On July 29, 2023, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the two children were located safe and are in the process of being reunited with family.
“We recognize that many have been following this investigation closely since the AMBER Alert was issued, says, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Corporal Vanessa Munn. We sincerely appreciate the assistance from the public, media, community and policing partners, who all played an important role in helping to safely locate the children.”
