POLICE – Two people taken to hospital after collision on Lansdowne Street

One lane on Lansdowne Street was reopened early this afternoon (July 18, 2023) and two people were transported to hospital following a collision between 5th and 6th Avenue this morning.

Around 11:40 a.m., emergency responders were called to the 500-block of Lansdowne Street for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two cyclists and an SUV. Both cyclists were transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

A police presence remained on scene as officers, including those from the Municipal Traffic Unit, continued to investigate. The roadway was expected to fully reopen shortly.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-25582.
