LETTER – Agree politicians need thicker skins, but disagree with conclusion

Re: EDITORIAL – Caputo’s email fracas with Lametti is much ado about nothing

I read your article about Lametti’s email and agree that politicians and everyone, for that matter, needs thicker skins but I disagree with your conclusion that Frank Caputo should be careful about which part of a speech he should applaud.

Freedom of expression should not be at stake from self censorship. Despite how thick someone’s skin is, Lametti is still threatening another MP. This is not a part of Lametti’s job description and if he was my representative, I wouldn’t want my representative acting in this manner.

Frank is, however, acting too hurt for a low ball threat that should be brushed off. He should walk it off or fire back (verbally).

Thanks for the chuckle but I think you were too harsh in your words towards Frank, and your bias is showing. I know it’s tough being a mayor even if it’s from the arm chair.
