Hundreds of grams in suspected illegal drugs were taken off the streets following a Saturday afternoon traffic stop in Kamloops.

On June 24, 2023, around 4 p.m., a Kamloops RCMP officer was patrolling the North Shore when he observed a vehicle fail to stop before turning onto Lethbridge Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop and, as part of the investigation, arrested the vehicle’s two occupants for drug possession and trafficking.

“Approximately three quarters of a kilo of suspected illegal drugs were seized as a result, including cocaine, meth, and opioids, in additional to paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, and more than $6,000 in cash,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

Both suspects were released pending the investigation’s conclusion.

Anyone with information that may be related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-22327.
