LETTER – B.C.’s liberal drug policy is a rallying cry for the addicted
I saw your article about the rapid spike in homelessness in Kamloops this spring:
ROTHENBURGER: Where is the Magical Mystery Bus bringing homeless here?
Same thing is happening in Victoria. Our Pandora street is overwhelmed with tents again despite the NDP buying so many hotels for homeless criminals to live in.
We are going to continue to see an influx of homeless drug addicts so long as BC has the most liberal drug policy in Canada. It’s basically a rallying cry for anyone addicted to hard drugs from all over Canada…. come here, we won’t criticize, and if anything we’ll give you free drugs.
Afterall, just look how they’re starting to sell crack, meth, heroin etc in public now in the downtown eastside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5zVbG3r-0I
What a nightmare! Hope I’m wrong, but time will tell.
Best wishes,

We (yes we – not just government but all Canadians) can do new policies, build new housing complexes, provide meals and be compassionate.
But the real question is the “why”.
Why do people young and old turn to drugs. Until we can figure this out within family homes, schools, and society in general we are going to see numbers of homeless and drug deaths increase.
