POLICE – Billboard on Yellowhead promoting COVID safety vandalized

The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment is investigating after a billboard promoting Covid-19 safety was vandalized.

Police received a report today (Sept. 20, 2021) of anti-Covid messaging and a swastika spray painted over a billboard rented by Tk’emlúps te Secwepmc and Qwemstin Health to promote Covid Safety measures.

The advertisement is on the east side of Highway 5 about one km south of Paul Lake Road. The vandalism is believed to have occurred between Saturday afternoon and this morning.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or captured dash cam footage of the crime, or has information which could help to further the investigation, to please contact the Tk’emlúps RCMP at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2021-33109.
