POLICE – Four in custody after shot fired at house, auto chase through town
Four people are in custody after a report that a Knutsford home was shot at earlier today (Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020).
The homeowner got the licence number of a red Kia Sole that left the area quickly, and Kamloops RCMP discovered the vehicle had been stolen the previous day.
Police spotted it on Hugh Allen Drive but the driver refused to stop. It was then seen on Hillside Drive but the driver again refused to stop, continuing onto Summit Drive northbound.
A spike belt deployed at the bottom of Summit Drive deflated two tires but the Kia still didn’t stop and police decided not to pursue it due to public safety reasons.
A short time later, it was seen again, this time on the north side of the Red Bridge. All four occupants fled but two were promptly arrested and the other two were located with help from a police service dog.
The investigation continues.
