Police were called to a hotel on upper Columbia Street again today (Oct. 21, 2020), this time in response to a domestic dispute.

The call, to the Panorama Inn in the 600 block, came in at 8:40 a.m., resulting in a heavy police presence as a 32-year-old man was arrested. A weapon was found at the scene.

Meanwhile, Beattie elementary was placed under a hold-and-secure protocol, as it was last week after a shooting at the Hospitality Inn nearby. It was lifted later in the day.

RCMP said it appeared a woman had been subjected to domestic violence.

“We take domestic violence calls very seriously and our response is dictated by the information that we receive,” said Sgt. Darren Michels.

“I am happy in this case that things came to a peaceful conclusion.”
