POLICE – Investigation underway after shot fired in alley behind Fortune Drive

Police are investigating a shooting incident in the alley behind Fortune Drive on Saturday night (Sept. 26, 2020).

Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in an alley off the 400 block of Fortune Drive shortly before 10 p.m. and found that a suspect “had an interaction with occupant(s) of a vehicle and then allegedly fired a single shot into the air while the vehicle sped off.

“The suspect then retreated to a nearby residence.”

Police said the residence was contained and safely evacuated with the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT).  Several people from a suite in the residence were taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
