A Kamloops police officer celebrates his seventh birthday today (June 2, 2020).

The birthday boy is Fargo, a police dog with the Kamloops RCMP detachment. The detachment sent him out birthday wishes on his special day.

Fargo has been with the RCMP since he was born at the RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre in Innisfail, Alberta and has proudly served in Newfoundland, Alberta and British Columbia with his partner, Cpl. Steve Prior.

In addition to tracking bad guys and looking for drugs in Kamloops, Fargo is part of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and has assisted in many high-risk calls.

Cpl. Prior states, “We are planning a steak dinner to celebrate Fargo’s birthday, but no alcohol … we’re both on call,” said Cpl. Prior.

“Later, he will chill with the family.”
