POLICE – Suspect arrested after cash and ciggies robbed from gas station

Police arrested a suspect Saturday night (Feb. 15, 2020) after a gas-station robbery.

At about 8:40 p.m., Kamloops RCMP received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Husky Gas Station located at 884 Columbia St. W.  The lone male suspect produced a knife, stealing cigarettes and cash.

RCMP members responded and quickly flooded the area.  An officer saw a man matching the description of the suspect in the area of Grandview Terrace.  When stopped by police the male tried to flee and was arrested.

A search of the backpack he was carrying revealed a some cash and cigarettes, police said. The man will appear in court today.
