POLICE – Pickup smacks BC Transit bus in intersection of Seymour and Sixth

Passengers in a City bus escaped injury but the driver was taken to Royal Inland Hospital today (Jan. 24, 2020) after the bus was hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Seymour Street and Sixth Avenue.

The collision occurred about 9:30 as the bus was heading east on Seymour and was crossing 6th on a green light. The truck, travelling north on 6th, ran the red light and hit the bus.

RCMP said witnesses reported that the bus then veered off and hit an empty SUV parked on the side of the street.

Both the driver of the bus and the driver of the pickup were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
