ARTS – Local artists and supporters honoured at annual Gala for the Arts

The best of the Kamloops arts world were honoured Saturday night (Jan. 18, 2020) at the annual Mayor’s Gala for the Arts.

Emerging Artist, which recognizes an emerging Kamloops artist working in the visual and/ or performing arts for their current accomplishments and emerging potential, went to Marcella Barz.

Corporate Champion, which recognizes outstanding Kamloops business leaders or corporations that have made a significant contribution supporting local arts and culture, was awarded to Lee’s Music.

The third award, Enduring Supporter, which recognizes the long-serving and foundational commitment of an outstanding individual, was awarded to Michael Powell.

The annual gala is co-hosted by the City, Kamloops Art Gallery, Kamloops Symphony and Western Canada Theatre.
