POLICE – Drugs, cash seized in series of search warrants at store, homes
Illicit drugs, a handgun and $350,000 in Canadian currency were among the items confiscated by Kamloops RCMP in a series of raids this week.
With support from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C. (CFSEU-BC), the RCMP Target Enforcement Unit executed several search warrants in connection with drug trafficking.
One of the warrants was for the Sunshine Gardens Superstore in the 1700 block of Kelly Douglas Road. Another was executed at a home in the 100 Block of Knollwood Drive and a third in the 1000 Block of Kinross Place.
Two men, 50 and 24 years old, were arrested but have since been released.
The search warrants resulted in the seizure of:
- More than $350,000.00 in Canadian currency
- Substantial amounts of illicit drugs including what is believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and marihuana
- A 40 caliber handgun with ammunition
- Various items relating to drug trafficking
Police said today (Nov. 27, 2019) the next stage of the investigation will include reviewing the evidence seized and forwarding all investigative information to the B.C. Prosecution Service who will determine if/what charges will be forthcoming.
