POLICE – Dead Anglemont pair identified but RCMP withhold names

Police have identified two people found dead in an Anglemont home early last week but they aren’t saying who they are.

The B.C. RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service have now positively identified the two, a statement from RCMP said today (Nov. 12, 2019).

On Nov. 5 at about 3:40 p.m., Chase RCMP responded to a house in the 2200-block of Fraser Road in Anglemont after a dead man and woman were discovered inside.

The Major Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Chase detachment.

“The identity of each of the deceased persons discovered inside the home has been confirmed by the RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, spokesperson for the B.C. RCMP Southeast District.

“I can now share that the deceased have been positively identified as a 62-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman. The man and woman were known to each other.

“Furthermore, I can confirm that RCMP continue to believe that this tragic incident was an isolated event. No suspects are being sought at this time, nor is there any danger to the public.”

The statement said no further information will be released by RCMP and the BC Coroners Service.
