POLICE – Two taken to hospital in critical condition after Highway 5 crash
Two people are in hospital in critical condition after their SUV collided with a pickup truck on Highway 5 north Friday (Sept. 13, 2019).
RCMP were called to the the scene at the Old Highway 5 junction at 5:56 p.m.
Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk said today (Sept.14, 2019) the SUV and the northbound pickup collided as the SUV was entering onto the highway.
“Upon extraction from the vehicle, the two occupants of the SUV were transported by ground and air ambulances to medical facilities for urgent care. Both remain in critical condition at this time. The two occupants of the pickup truck were assessed at scene and are physically unharmed.”
He said the exact cause of the collision remains under investigation, being led by Kamloops RCMP Municipal Traffic Services with assistance from a collision reconstructionist.
