POLICE – Woman dies from her injuries after Westsyde mobile home fire
UPDATE, July 17, 2019 — On July 16, 2019 an examination of the residential fire scene on Grant Road, in which a female lost her life, was completed by the RCMP and Kamloops Fire Rescue. Based on the evidence uncovered, the fire is not believed to be arson. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The BC Coroner Service is also investigating this death, and the Kamloops RCMP will continue to provide support with their investigation.
EARLIER STORY — The woman who was pulled from the mobile-home fire on Grant Road in Westsyde yesterday (Monday, July 15) has died from her injuries.
Fire Investigators with Kamloops Fire Rescue and the RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Investigation Section, are examining the scene today. Police said It is unknown how long this investigation will be or when the results of the investigation will be available.
Two youths who were taken into custody yesterday have been released. Their involvement in this fire, if any, is still under investigation, RCMP said.
