LETTER – Knutsford residents got a taste of the smell of biosolids

Re: Editorial – Bold action is required to find the answer to biosolids issue

Thank you so much for taking interest in Turtle Valley’s plight to stop the biosolids.

We live in Knutsford off of Manning’s road. A neighbour spread biosolids two years ago on his property on Long Lake road . The smell alone was beyond disgusting; it could be smelled as far down as Grandview Lodge. We couldn’t open our windows of our homes never mind tend to our gardens or go outside for a walk.

Fortunately for us in Knutsford, the land owner stopped the dumping of this toxic waste on his land. Did I mention he lives nowhere near this particular property? However, in Knutsford style, several bucketsful were very close to being deposited on his doorstep by several of our neighbors.

I was at the protest on Saturday, with the very limited knowledge of biosolids that we have experienced. My heart goes out to my friends of the donkey refuge and folks that I met on Saturday.  Thank you again so much for speaking on this horrible issue.
