POLICE – Driver of cement truck pronounced dead at accident scene

The driver and sole occupant of a cement truck is dead after the vehicle left the roadway and rolled down an embankment today (April 29, 2019), landing on its roof.

At 8:40 a.m., Kamloops Rural RCMP were called to a single-vehicle accident on the Heffley-Louis Creek Road about two kilometers east of Heffley Lake.  The truck was travelling towards Sun Peaks when the accident happened.

Kamloops Fire Rescue and Sun Peaks Fire Rescue responded to assist with extracting the driver from the truck but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the driver, who is from the Kamloops area, hadn’t been released. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
