POLICE – Wild ride ends with car hitting parked vehicles, plowing into residence
A 59-year-old driver visiting from Prince George landed in hospital after a wild ride that ended with her sedan plowing into a house Monday night (Oct. 22, 2018).
RCMP said today the incident happened around 10 p.m. as they received numerous complaints of an erratic driver on Highway 5 northbound.
As officers were driving to that location, more reports came in that the vehicle had left the highway near Copperhead Drive at a high rate of speed and entered the Pineview area. The car travelled down Foxtail Drive, striking three parked vehicles before colliding with a residence, police said.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and was taken to hospital with head injuries suffered when the airbag in her Ford Focus deployed.
RCMP say she displayed possible signs of impairment and the investigation is ongoing to determine if drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident.
The vehicles that were hit were empty and no one in the house was injured.
