POLICE – Stabbing at Pioneer Park believed to be connected to drug trade

Pioneer Park.

A man who was stabbed numerous times was taken to hospital after a drug-related incident at Pioneer Park. A second man was also injured.

The stabbing was reported to Kamloops RCMP at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, July 12.

Investigation revealed that two men had been attacked at the park earlier in the afternoon. Police say the attacks are believed to be related to the drug trade. The victim had serious but non-life threatening injuries.  The second male victim was located and found to have minor injuries.

The suspects have not been located but police do not believe there is any risk to the general public as this was a targeted attack.

The investigation continues and police are asking anyone who saw the altercation to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
