McQUARRIE – We should be able to agree: fossil fuels are running out
I CRINGE with almost every conversation and social media post about the Kinder Morgan pipeline as inevitably someone, thinking they are quite witty and original, will say something like: “Well if you’re against oil and pipelines so much then stop driving your car, heating your home or using plastics.”
It is said as a put down, a braggart’s claim intended to heap shame upon the supposed hypocrisy of those who do not support the expansion of or product to be carried in the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
However, whether you are for or against the pipeline, do we not eventually have to end our dependence on these fuels?

Bill McQUARRIE,
You make some very good points, BUT is this not a conversation that should have been initiated BEFORE KINDER -MORGAN was given approval for the PIPELINE and invested what ever they invested, thinking they had a green light to proceed.
If it is just the PROTESTORS who are now delaying this, they should be dealt with as protestors should so they
“ don’t protest anymore”.
The Special Interest Groups as a Minority imposing their will on the MAJORITY is making Cansda look like a DICTATORSHIP.
Why do we declare Canada a DEMOCRACY when the MAJORITY OPINION has no voice?
Our POLITICIANS bend to every whim of Special Interest Groups.
We have LAW ENFORCEMENT and THE MIKITARY. to deal with those who stand in the way of our DEMOCRATIC PROCESS and I do not understand why we don’t resist them appropriately.
The solution isn’t that complicated.
