POLICE – Canoeists spot body in river near Rabbit Island

A body spotted by canoeists in the Thompson River near the north end of Rabbit Island today (Saturday, April 21, 2018) is the subject of a police search.

Kamloops RCMP received a report at 9:50 a.m. of a body floating in the river at that location. The canoeists who came upon it lost sight of the body when they paddled to shore to call police.

Police searched by boat and plane but couldn’t find it. They suspended their search and plan to start an air search when river conditions have improved.
