POLICE – Arrest made in connection with death at correctional centre

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second degree murder. Nathaniel Jessup is in custody and will go before a judge.

In November 2014, Kamloops RCMP were called to Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre after receiving a report of the sudden death of a 20-year-old man.  The investigation was led by the B.C. Coroners Service.

In the summer of 2015, police received new information that led them to believe that criminality may have been involved in the death and an investigation was launched, the Kamloops detachment said today (Feb. 13, 2018).  The victim’s family has been made aware of the developments throughout the investigation.

Jessup was an inmate at the time of the victim’s death.
