POLICE – Badger Drive case prompts search of Westsyde house
The Badger Drive case continues, with RCMP raiding a Westsyde residence they say is owned by the man renting the Dallas house that started it all.
Cpl. Jodie Shelkie said today (Jan. 22, 2018) that numerous items were seized Friday from the Westsyde residence, and charges are contemplated against the owner once the Forensic Identification Section has finished its investigation.
Last week, a search warrant on the Badger Drive house in Dallas resulted in police finding firearms and explosive devices. That warrant was prompted by a home invasion incident. The RCMP bomb disposal unit was called in to neutralize a device.
“This is another reminder to landlords to properly screen tenants,” said Cpl. Jodie Shelkie.
“Always confirm the identity of the potential renter and check all of their references. In the case of the residence on Badger Drive, there was significant damage done to the rental and the landlord must now start the eviction process.”
She said the evidence seized from both search warrants is still under investigation.
