POLICE – Pedestrian hit by turning vehicle at 6th-and-Victoria crosswalk
An 18-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital Wednesday night (Jan. 17, 2018) after she was hit by a vehicle in downtown Kamloops.
The accident happened at 7 p.m. as the woman was crossing Victoria Street at 6th Avenue in a crosswalk and was struck by a turning vehicle. She suffered minor injuries.
RCMP said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. The driver is not being charged with any offence.
The intersection was later re-opened to traffic. Police reminded drivers and pedestrians to be vigilant when on the roadways, especially during the hours of artificial street lamp lighting.
