DOWNTOWN – Business association names new executive director

Outgoing KCBIA ED Gay Pooler welcomes Carl DeSantis aboard.

A new executive director will take over at the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) later this month.

The association announced today (Jan. 10, 2017) that Carl DeSantis will succeed Gay Pooler, who held the position for 14 years.

DeSantis, a former program coordinator at Bow Valley College in Calgary, where he retired from the Calgary Police Service in 2011, said he’s “both excited and honored to have been chosen to lead the KCBIA” and is “anxious to get to work and have constructive conversations with our stakeholders.”

Pooler, who announced her departure from the KCBIA several weeks ago, said she looks forward to her return to the private sector but feels grateful for her time at the business association.
