The Kamloops Walmart was evacuated just after noon today (Monday, Nov. 13, 2017) after a threat via the Internet was reported to police.

Col. Jodi Shelkie said the threat was reported to RCMP by people monitoring a public website.

“Kamloops RCMP consulted with Walmart Management and, as a precaution to ensure the absolute safety of customers and employees, the store was evacuated until it was proven safe.”

Shelkie said police were on the scene and assisting Walmart management in securing the business.  She said there have been no injuries and no physical threat has been found within the store.
