WHAT’S UP DOWNTOWN – Five reasons to visit your favourite Downtown

SITTING AT HOME on your day off is boring and lonesome. So why don’t you come Downtown? Don’t know what to do? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Grab a couple of friends, and cross some things off your Downtown Bucket list. Here are our top five reasons for visiting Downtown Kamloops:

Downtown Kamloops is flowing with an abundance of Arts & Culture.  With a variety of art galleries, outdoor public art, the museum, live music & more Downtown Kamloops is the place to get out and explore. There’s always a new event popping up somewhere, so make sure to check out our events page on our website!

We offer a Diverse Dining Scene. We’ve got the best selection in town for food and drinks, everything from international flavours, to fine dining made with local ingredients. Not to mention plenty of options for craft brew, (like the Noble Pig,) or hot coffee – everyone loves Motivo.

If you don’t like the first two options, how about a stroll in some of Downtown’s Natural Attractions. There are several scenic parks located in the Downtown core, including Riverside (a local favourite, and my fave) – where you can stroll down to the pier for spectacular views of the Thompson River. Don’t forget to bring your fur baby to a Dog-friendly spot, like Rivers Trail and Pioneer Park.

Who doesn’t like to learn a little bit of our Heritage? Kamloops has a rich history rooted in furtrade and the building of the railway. Downtown is home to some of the oldest structures in the city. The timeless architecture and well-maintained heritage homes make for a lovely stroll.

And of course last but not least, make sure to stop into some of the Unique Boutiques we have! We are fortunate that our Downtown core is home to a diverse array of retail shops. Escape the box and spend some time browsing the neighbourhood for artwork, fashion, jewelry, and the latest in footwear or simply drop-by for essential groceries and gifts!
