WHAT’S UP DOWNTOWN – See you at the Merchants Market

IT’S A HECTIC and exciting time in Downtown Kamloops.

We host Merchants Market every year, and every year, we try to make the event bigger, and better than ever. We have every foodie’s fave, the Taste of Downtown, killer sales that are easy on the wallet, a plethora of fun activities for your tiny humans and, of course, new this year, we have partnered with BrewLoops to bring you the Back Alley Block Party.

On my morning commute to work, while blaring music and singing the words to a song slightly off tune (okay, completely off tune) I’m usually preparing myself for all the things we, the CAP Team, need to accomplish in a day.

We have been working hard this summer, and are excited to see it all pay off. Every day we do a little more organizing, cleaning, contact more organizations, deliver invitations, notices, (2,095 since the beginning of June to be precise) and get even more excited for the event.

We are doing all of this while continuing our patrols, and helping visitors and evacuees at the Info Center. The dedication and hard work that the team focusses into an event is astounding. In the end, all our hard work pays off, and it’s a rewarding to be a part of the process.

The Back Alley Block Party is something that the team is very excited about. With a fresh new look for Downtown, some new team members, and new logos, it just seems so fitting to add in a new event too!

I’m excited for the music, the sales, the food, and for the delicious, cold bubblies that will be served, it’s going to be great! Don’t just take my word for it, come on down.
