POLICE – Death of Kamloops man found in Robbins Range Road area investigated as a murder
The death of a man whose remains were found in the area of Robbins Range Road south of Barnhartvale is being investigated by RCMP as a murder.
Kamloops resident Robert Leslie Gair, 52, is believed to have been murdered on or about Sept. 13, 2016.
The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit is investigating the homicide death.
“Police believe that Robert Gair’s murder was not a random act and that there is no risk to the general public,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a media release Friday (April 7, 2017).
The area in which Gair was located falls within the jurisdiction of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit based out of Kelowna. Police say they have maintained communication with Gair’s family since the start of the investigation and had not previously released information publicly on the recovery of his body nor the subsequent determination of it being a homicide death.
