POLICE – Four bodies discovered in home near Ashcroft after police called
The discovery of four bodies in a Venables Lake home has the RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service trying to figure out what happened.
Friday afternoon (March 24, 2017), the Ashcroft RCMP detachment responded to a request for a well-being check at the home in Venables Valley southwest of Ashcroft. Officers located the four bodies inside the home.
As a result, the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit (MCU) was called out and is now assisting the Ashcroft Detachment with the investigation, Cpl. Dan Mosklaluk of the South East District RCMP office said today (Saturday, March 25, 2017).
“The scene examination will be carried out throughout the weekend, with preliminary findings lead investigators to believe that there is no threat posed to the general public,” he said.
Both the Ashcroft RCMP and Southeast District MCU are working in conjunction with the B.C. Coroner’s Service, and the Ashcroft Victim Assistance workers are also assisting, said Moskaluk.
No further information was released.
