POLICE – Update on hit-and-run that killed Jenn Gatey coming today
Police will provide an update to the Jennifer Gatey case this morning (March 6, 2017).
Gatey was killed by a hit-and-run driver last Nov. 4 on Pacific Way near her home. She would have turned 17 the following day. No one has accepted responsibility for the incident but RCMP have had a black jeep in their custody since it was found Nov. 7 in a driveway on Sunshine Court.
Ever since, the vehicle has undergone forensic testing but no charges have been laid.
Supt. Brad Mueller, officer in charge of the Kamloops RCMP detachment, will conduct a press conference today but police stated no other information will be released prior to the press conference.
Jenn Gatey attended Pacific Way Elementary and South Kamloops Secondary, where she attended Grade 11, and was involved in sports and other school activities.
